Truly extraordinary ideas deserve recognition--even if they're still ideas and not a finished project.

The IDEAS|next Award is your opportunity to showcase ingenious sparks, unconventional concepts, and potential technical breakthroughs that are still "on the boards" and may redefine what steel can achieve next.

We invite submissions that highlight innovative concepts that push the boundaries of steel's versatility, specific components or systems that represent pioneering uses of steel, and digital and material evolution that set a new sustainable and technological precedent in the AEC industries.

As long as you have a client and a site, you’re eligible! The application deadline is August 30, 2026.

Ready for the national stage? Winners will be invited to present their project to the industry at the Architecture in Steel conference as part of NASCC: The Steel Conference (April 14 to 16, 2027, in Denver). They’ll also be featured in the May 2027 issue of Modern Steel Construction magazine and in other media throughout the year.

AISC will host an exclusive awards night where winners can mingle with top architects just before AIA27!
